Great scope,
As of 09/29/2010 the picture on this page is not the correct scope and the description is not complete for the mil dot version of this scope (no red dot info). Copy this Item model number STP3942G/D and paste it on Amazon’s search engine. There you will see the P4 sniper version of this scope and the adapter mount and the red dot reflex site and the quick release system (picatinny/weaver) that you will be getting if you purchase this mil dot version.
I am new to guns so, for accurate reviews read others. The scope parallaxes at before 100 yards which I believe are normal for a zoom scope. The view becomes clear at about 50 yards and beyond for me when I took it outside. As for the red dot, if it were a laser measured out to 25 feet the dot would measure about 3 inches, that is how it appears to me. As for the mount sits low to clear rear sites, I had just enough clearance for my Troy industries rear iron sights. The Troy’s are the lowest folding sights that I know of. So you may need a short riser or remove the rear sites. The quick release mount wiggled after mounting it but after following the directions it now sits solid as a rock and operates great.

|A lot for the money!,
First….the picture on this item is wrong as I saw stated by another reviewer. This scope does include the red dot and mounting bracket for it.
This scope is really very cool. It has all the features you need for everyday recreational use or hunting. The 3×9 scope is easily sighted and seems to hold its zero well. The mount for the scope is a quick release style which allows you to remove it with just the push of a lever, very nice for cleaning weapon or scope. You will have to do a minor adjustment to make the scope mount fit tightly to the gun but the directions are included and it is EASY. The included red dot sight also works well. Two things that could be improved on the red dot are #1 There are not click or reference points on the adjustment screws so fine tuning this sight takes some patience plus adjustment for the sight is OPPOSITE of the scope in that if you adjust the screw toward the up indicator…your dot point will actually adjust down. This is fine but just remember it to avoid additional sighting time when setting up the sight. #2 The poor quality of set screws used. I have read several reviews stating that the lockdown set screws stripped immediately during first use. I put this down to those people being idiots with a tool and thoght nothing more about it. WRONG. I also had one of the hex head screws begin to strip on the first adjustment and I KNOW that I know how to use tools properly. This is not a huge deal but more of an inconvience as I will have to track down a new one (or 4) to replace the weak one.
I love this scope/red dot combo. My brother has a $1200.00 set up on his AR15 that is similar (trij. scope and burris fast red dot) but for the money???! I would take mine everytime. (unless you are going to war w/it.) I even got a cool red/green illumination included in the scope, although I’m not sure what I need it for…. Anyway, feel confident in buying this combo scope. There are more expensive models out there but for most of us, this is all the scope you need.
After searching everywhere for the best price, I got mine at Amazon. This seems to happen alot.

|Taking a chance,
This scope is great and what a deal, was on the paper at a 100 yrds and I dialed it in to the black.I have a AR15 H-Bar and it sits high on the carry handle, like the Manual said it would. Getting a Delta Cheek piece so I can line up. The optics were crystal clear, slight focus adjustment needed, you need the 42mm objective for the light, didn’t try the red or green since I didn’t need them and didn’t occur to me to use them. The mount is a tight fit and stays on zero,I don’t know if the zero changes when you go up in power since I sighted in at 6 magnification. The iron sights are not obscured by the mount. The down side is, the scope was tilted to the right and I had to file the left side of the mount and put tape on the right side to level it up.It sits too far forward when the Delta cheek was installed, should have bought the quick relase model so I could put it on a rail and adjust the distance.Hind sight is 20-20. One additional thing, the wheel mount comes loose after a while, unless you want to loc tite it in I would get another type mount
